The First July, members of the Cafnec Marine Response Team joined Matt from Tangaroa Blue for a beach cleanup at Four Mile Beach, Port Douglas. We saw how even beaches that look pristine from afar are not free from plastic pollution if you take a closer look. We found too many straws, cigarette butts, plastic bags, drink cups, food wrappers, and balloon remnants – all items that are almost always unnecessary in the first place! It’s much easier to prevent a mess than clean up after it. Help reduce the source of our plastic pollution by continuing to stay committed and vocal during Plastic Free July!
