Well the Blue Bags now have two in a row. Unfortunately they are over the bottom two teams on the ladder after 4 rounds. The latest effort against the Parramatta Pumas saw a lower than expected scoreline. SFC took the Pumas 10-1 in the pool game of the State Championships (Pumas scored 2 and had 50 against after 4 games). It was hoped the SFC could repeat the dose and get their F&A up a bit. They didn’t count on the new custodian for Pumas, Chanise Jamhour, who in her 1st game repelled several advances from the Blue Bags. Admittedly some were kicked straight at her and a penalty attempt from Frilly was kicked as far away from her as possible. Of more concern is the fact that after 4 games the pumas have only scored 2 goals and they were both against us – the communication and pattern at the back must improve. Despite this, a “camera’s game girl” effort from Breezy kept SFC in the game. On a positive note Callous got a brace with The Mess and The Spear grabbing one each. The other talking point was Snickers with another yellow. She claims she has a stalker who likes to deliver yellow cards to her whenever they are on the same surface. He doesn’t seem to understand the extra gravity field that surrounds her and sucks in smaller orbiting bodies. Next week sees a test against the Mt Druitt Rangers, although they don’t seem to be the force they were in the State Championships and are coming off a bye. Who knows, if the squabbling can be controlled, communication improved and shots tend away from the keeper instead of towards them – the blue bags might be a chance.
